Attorney and Counselor at Law Richard B. Hein opened his Firm in the spring of 2003. Mr. Hein earned his law degree from Saint Louis University School of Law as the youngest member of his graduating class in 1994 (the second-youngest by eight days being his now-wife, Maria). He also received his undergraduate degree in History, cum laude, from Saint Louis University in 1991. Mr. Hein was born and raised in St. Louis, and graduated from the St. Louis Priory High School. While in law school, Mr. Hein studied in the Centro de Estudios Universitarios at the Colegio de San Pablo, and served as a law clerk to one of the leading law firms in Europe, J. & B. Cremades & Associates, both in Madrid, Spain.

Prior to establishing the Firm, Mr. Hein chaired the appellate group for one of the largest law Firms in the St. Louis metropolitan area. He has managed appeals in the Eighth Circuit Federal Court of Appeals in addition to the Missouri State Courts of Appeals for the Eastern and Western Districts and the Missouri State Supreme Court. He is also a member of the Federal District Court of Eastern Missouri, as well as the United States Supreme Court.

Mr. Hein lives in Richmond Heights, Missouri, USA with his wife, Maria Adriana, and their two children, Ana Maria and John Henry.

Yvonne Aviles is a Legal Assistant and the Office Manager. She was born in Harlingen, Texas. Her mother is from Mexico and her father is from Cuero, Texas. She graduated top 11% of her class at Harlingen High School in 1993 and went on to marry her high school sweetheart. She has been married thirteen years and has five children. She is currently enrolled full-time at St. Louis Community College, Forest Park, in the General Transfer Studies Program. Before joining our law firm, she was still very actively involved in the Hispanic community, promoting several social services agencies and their resources to the Hispanic community and was involved in several ad media campaigns to advertise said services. She has been with the Firm since October 2003, is an invaluable resource and a friendly face to our clients.






Bonnie C. Robinson

Bonnie C. Robinson

Bonnie C. Robinson is a Legal Assistant. She was born in Brownsville, Texas. Her mother is from Ocampo, Mexico and her father is from Houston, Texas. She graduated from Pace High School in 1997 and went to San Antonio College, completing two years. Currently she is enrolled in the General Transfer Studies Program Meramec Community College en St. Louis. Prior to joining our Firm, she worked at J.P. Morgan Chase in San Antonio, Texas as an Escalation Specialist, and at Providian Financial, also in San Antonio, Texas, as a sales and service representative. Ms. Robinson has been with the Firm since April, 2005.








Enrique J. Marín

Enrique J. Marín

We are pleased to announce the addition of Immigration Legal Assistant Enrique J. Marín, who is originally from Caracas, Venezuela. After graduating from the National Police Academy in 1969, he served a full career spanning 24 years as a Traffic Officer and Human Resource Department Manager in the Federal Transportation and Communications Ministry and as Labor and Employment Counsel in the Health Corporation Ministry in Aragua State, Venezuela. He is a foreign attorney and obtained his Law Degree from the Carabobo University School of Law in 1992, while obtaining an advanced degree in Foreign Trade from the Carabobo University Latin American Caribbean Education Centre (CELAC) in 1995. Additionally, Enrique was an adjunct professor of law at the Carabobo University Latin American Caribbean Education Centre (CELAC) in 2001 where he taught Customs Law, Export Processes I and II, and International Agreements. He also has 11 years of experience as a litigation attorney in Venezuela, and was the co-owner of an Import/Export Coordinator for 10 years in that country. Since coming to the United States, he has served as an Immigration Paralegal for 2 years at The Immigration Project in Southern Illinois. He is bilingual in English and Spanish. Enrique is the proud father of 4 children, and he lives in Creve Coeur, Missouri with his wife, Elsa. He is a member of the Venezuelan Society of Missouri.



Edward K. Fehlig

We are pleased to welcome attorney Edward K. Fehlig to our team of professionals as head of the Firm’s Immigration Department. Mr. Fehlig earned his law degree in 2001 from St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas, where he was Dean’s List and Assistant Editor of the St. Mary’s Law Review on Minority Issues. He earned his undergraduate degree in European Cultural Studies in 1996 at the American University of Paris (L’Université Americaine de Paris - as featured in Dan Brown’s novel The DaVinci Code) in Paris, France, after two years at Saint Louis University’s campus in Madrid, Spain. Mr. Fehlig was born and raised in St. Louis, and graduated from Chaminade High School.

While in lw school, Mr. Fehlig worked as an Assistant Analyst in the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Mexico City, Mexico, as a Student Attorney in the Immigration Clinic of the Center for Legal and Social Justice at St. Mary’s University School of Law, and as a legal intern for U.S. Magistrate Judge David D. Noce of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. He is fluent in English, Spanish and French.

Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Fehlig served as a law clerk for Judge Paul J. Simon of the Missouri Court of Appeals for the Eastern District of Missouri, served as a St. Louis Public Defender from 2002 to 2006, and was also a solo practitioner. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Federal District Court of Eastern Missouri, and the Supreme Courts of Missouri and Texas. He is a Board Member of the Young Friends of the St. Louis Shakespeare Festival as well as a Trustee for the St. Vincent’s Home for Children. Mr. Fehlig’s background, training, education and experience lend themselves very well to expanding the Firm’s service to the community.
